Practice for Scantron - Math

Today, everyone will open a practice test that I've saved in your network folder.  Please remember to do the following:

  • Fold your scrap paper into 1/8ths or 1/6ths
  • Use the highlighter tool to mark your answer
  • Raise your hand if you don't understand a question -- THIS IS PRACTICE
  • Click Save when you finish your test
When you are finished, you may do 1 of these:

Permimeter: Squares and Rectangles

2.  iPad - Splash Math -Division
  • 2 digit by 1 digit without remainders - Medium and Advanced
  • 2 digit by 1 digit with remainders - Medium
Click on: Number and Operations in Base Ten 1
Then, choose: Divide: 1-Digit Divisor
Then, Divide: 2-Digit Divisor (for an extra challenge)

You may use any of the poetry formats that we've been working on (acrostic, haiku, cinquain, etc.).  If you are using a free verse format, open a new document in Word or Google Drive and type your poem.  We will put everyone's poem together in a book.

Don't forget to include your name.

Poetry Writing

Before you get started writing/typing your poetry, everyone must create a folder in either Google Drive or on your H: drive (for example, EatonE).  I want you to save and store all of your poetry in this folder.  Some of you have already created this folder.

If you have poems that you have already written, you may type them in Word or in Google Drive.  You can get creative with the fonts, the size of the text and the color of the text.  Don't forget to include your name on all of your poetry.

International Festival & Poetry

Today, please work on the following:
1. Finish your Facts about Australia and print.  DO NOT PRINT UNTIL SOMEONE CHECKS YOUR WORK FOR ANY MISSPELLINGS.

2. Finish editing and writing The Cricket in Times Square Summary (Mrs. Seaton's class).  Print it for Mrs. Seaton.

3. Continue to work on poetry.  Scroll down to my post from last week about different types of poetry.  I have added some new styles of poetry for you to try if you'd like (Limericks and Concrete Poems - highlighted in red).

Your Learning Style & Australia

First, Mr. Rook asked that you take the following quiz in order to help determine your specific learning style (how you learn best: visual, musical, logical/mathmatical, intrapersonal, etc.).  Please print the results when you are done.
